Edmund Nuttall, Carillion and Balfour Beatty will go head to head in a battle to win the contract to build London’s Olympic white water canoe centre.
The three firms have made a shortlist along with Fitzpatrick Contractors and Morrison Construction to construct the kayak and canoe centre in Broxbourne, Hertfordshire.
The contract is expected to be awarded in early 2009, with works to start in spring 2009 for a completion date by 2010.
The venue will host kayak and canoe events during the Games and be transformed into an elite competition venue once Olympic athletes depart.
The contract includes land formation, construction of a new facility building and pumping house, canoe course formation and landscaping works.
Its parkland setting will be designed by landscape architects Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates and the new facility building has been designed by FaulknerBrowns.
