Office refurbishment specialist Morgan Lovell has won a national environmental award for “greening” its own 1960s office building.
The firm has won a Green Apple for its Noel Street, Soho, building that features a worm farm that recycles the scraps of employee’s lunches.
The building, which was first seen as an environmental write-off, also achieved the highest BREEAM fit out score to date.
Morgan Lovell managing director David Henderson said: “The Noel Street office is increasingly being seen as a blueprint in terms of workplace design for the future.
“It is an ongoing, live case study, testing and trialling sustainable projects for use in our office refurbishment projects across the country.
“The building is also used for fact-finding visits, by organisation such as the British Institute of Facilities Management, to share ideas and results in order to introduce more sustainable offices that balance environmental concerns with economy.”
