SIG consolidates to create £120m Accessories division

Sheffield Insulation Group (SIG) is to consolidate a number of its building supplies business into a new £120m-turnover arm called SIG Construction Accessories.

The company said that the new arm, which draws together BBM, Support Site, Blueprint, Buildspand, Beaver 84 Shoring and Pre Pour, will begin operating in November this year.

The new division will provide groundwork, masonry and construction chemicals to a range of large contractors nationwide.

SIG said it hoped the move would save its clients money. It expects that contractors will be able to cut down the number of transactions they make - on average £15 per order - if its brings its various supplies business together under one banner.
