Contractors renovating Blackpool’s seafront have been ordered to redo their work after lazily painting over a sock tied to railings.
The unnamed contractors have been accused of ignoring the men’s sport sock that was left tied to the railings and painting it silver with the rest of them.
Blackpool council spokesman Julian Kearsley said the firm had been told to come back, remove the sock and fix the job.
“We contracted a local company to carry out this work and we’re hugely disappointed with this act of laziness,” he told the Metro.
“We have contacted the company who will be removing the sock and painting the railings correctly, like they should have done in the first place.”
Blackpool residents called the workmanship “disgraceful”, with one telling the newspaper it was “possibly the laziest thing I’ve ever seen”.
