Three men were injured when a crane collapsed at the front gate of Dublin’s O2 arena today.
One of the men was in the driver’s cabin and the others were nearby when the crane fell during morning peak-hour at the former Point Depot site.
The Point Village Development Company, which is working on site, told Ireland’s Herald.ie that a piece of a jib from a ground crawler crane had toppled.
The three men were taken to hospital, one with non-life threatening injuries and the others for observation.
The Health and Safety Authority and contractor Michael McNamara and Company have launched separate inquiries into the accident.
The area is currently undergoing a multi-million euro redevelopment.
