Pipe manufacturer Wavin cuts 200 jobs

Plastic pipe manufacturer Wavin has announced plans to cut 200 jobs, most of them in the UK.

The move is in response to the downturn across European construction markets.

The company will begin a formal consultation process, with the expected restructuring taking place during the last quarter of 2008.

This follows the loss of 100 employees earlier this year in the UK and Ireland.
