Wates tipped to win £30m Halifax college scheme

Insiders are putting their money on Wates to register a £30m education-sector hit in West Yorkshire.

The prize is the design and build of the two-stage tender Calderdale College scheme in Halifax and the word is that pitches from rivals Allenbuild, HBG and Shepherd have now been expelled.

Construction work is due to start next year on the 18,000m² new-build college. The present college will be demolished when the new facility is up and running.
