UK Diggers calls in administrators

Administrators have been appointed at Derbyshire-based plant hirer UK Diggers limited.

Administrators Baker Tilley said it was unlikely to be able to sell the company as a going concern.

The company employs 17 people and has a fleet of over 300 machines including site dumpers up to 9t, rollers, excavators from 800kg to 13t and telehandlers to 17m. 

Turnover in the year to the end of 2007 was £1.9m.

It was established in 2003 and last year spent £1m on Hanix excavators, took its telehandler fleet to 100 machines and opened a new 2 acre depot in Hilton, Derbyshire.
