Interserve locks up £32m prison extension deal

Interserve has won a £32m deal to extend HM Prison Forest Bank in Salford.

The prison was built by Interserve under a PFI contract in 1999, and currently has around 800 cells. The extension will add an extra 232 cells.

Construction will begin immediately, and is scheduled for completion in November 2009.

The prison is operated by management services firm Kalyx.
