WS Atkins buys MG Bennett for added nuclear capability

WS Atkins has strengthened its position in the nuclear sector with the acquisition of MG Bennett for £2.5m.

Bennett was formed in 1984. Based in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, it has 30 employees.

Bennett specialises in mechanical and structural engineering and has a strong track record in working within the nuclear industry having developed expertise in lifting and handling nuclear-related materials.

The acquisition enhances Atkins' nuclear capability. Atkins currently has more than 250 staff working across the nuclear industry and is active in decommissioning, current generating capacity, waste storage and the new-build programme.
