Highways Agency finance boss makes the switch to Thames Water

Mel Zuydam, finance director at the Highways Agency, has resigned in order to take up a senior appointment at Thames Water Utilities.

Zuydam has been with the HA for the past 4 years and before that was with Balfour Beatty.

Graham Dalton, HA chief executive, said Zuydam had put in place one of the best financial control and reporting systems of any government agency.

Until he jumps ship, Zuydam will continue to lead the commercial and financial aspects of the M25 DBFO contract negotiations, working alongside Ian Scholey, project director.

The replacement at the HA will be selected by means of a cross-civil service competition.
