Carillion wins £100m worth of education contracts

Carillion has revealed that it has secured contracts worth £100m from Essex County Council and Aston University.

The contractor has won a £42m Basildon Academies contract for Essex County Council to do new build work for Barstable School and Chalvedon School in East Basildon.

Work on Barstable School is scheduled for completion in December 2009, with Calvedon School expected to be finished in December 2011.

Meanwhile Carillion also won a £57m project to build student accommodation in Birmingham. Work is due for completion in August 2010.
