London 2012 bosses unveiling the latest designs for the Olympic village have vowed to wrap up funding arrangements for the £1bn project by the end of the year.
The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) said discussions to fill a funding gap of about £400m were continuing and should conclude by the end of the year.
Unveiling the latest legacy designs for the village, the authority said good progress was being made on the village despite no final funding arrangement.
Work began in June on the village’s permanent foundations and more than 300 construction workers are on site completing piling works.
The first bridge to the village is also in place. The 44m bridge spans the High Meads Loop railway that will link the village with neighbouring houses.
