Brighton construction firm Integra Builders has gone into administration following cash flow difficulties.
The £16m-a-year turnover company claimed it was forced into the move after failing to recover more than £400,000 from a private developer on a housing project in Haywards Heath, according to local paper The Argus.
Around 40 staff are thought to have lost their jobs at the 15-year-old company.
Worthing-based insolvency specialist Vantis is handling the company's administration.
