Plans to redevelop Harrogate International Centre as part of a £45m expansion scheme have been approved.
Harrogate Borough Council has consented to the construction of an exhibition hall with parking facilities on the car park behind the centre.
The hall will provide 1,600m2 of space, a car park at basement level and a lorry holding park, reported the BBC.
Construction is expected to take two years.
The second phase of the project is to include the construction of a new service road between the Royal Hall and new building.
The centre’s owners' grand plan is to eventually replace five exhibition halls built in the 1950s.
