Cemex has started a consultation process that could see nearly 160 drivers lose their jobs.
The company said that the downturn in the economy meant that it was looking at making 120 drivers at 41 locations redundant in its aggregates business.
Meanwhile the jobs of 39 drivers at six locations in its cement business are also under threat.
The consultation will be completed within the next three months.
