Five children killed after China crane collapse

Five children were killed after a crane fell onto a kindergarten in China's Shandong province on Friday.

The children were playing outside when they were hit by falling bricks as the crane collapsed onto their kindergarten in the city of Zibo, according to China's official Xinhua News Agency.

Another two children and the crane operator were taken to hospital with injuries.

Police are currently investigating the accident, and the managers of the construction company have been detained. It is thought poor safety measures are likely to be to blame.
