Fire crews in Oxford were forced to use a giant ladder to pluck a builder injured on the job to safety.

The 65-year-old man was working on a building site in Iffley Road when he fell two storeys and through a window.

Crews from Oxfordshire County Council Fire and Rescue were forced to close major road Bullingdon Road in East Oxford to rescue the man who was lying injured on the building’s first floor.

Using a hydraulic platform, he was lifted from the rear of a property at around 4.30pm Monday.

He was taken to hospital where it is believed he was treated for minor rib injuries.
