Wates Interiors could make up to 31 people redundant in its London and Manchester offices, in response to tough market conditions.

The fit-out firm, which employs 150 people in the UK, is planning to cut 12 jobs in Manchester out of a total workforce of 20.

Meanwhile its London office could see another 19 posts made redundant.

A company spokeswoman said: "Due to the current market conditions, Wates Interiors, along with a number of our competitors, are positioning ourselves to face the challenges ahead.

"Our focus remains on delivering for our customers and frameworks as well as our technology business."
