Crest Linden and English Partnerships win approval for 322 new homes

Crest Linden and English Partnerships have won approval to build 322 new eco-homes on the site of a former hospital in Surrey.

The firms have already started site preparation work at the former St Ebbas Hospital in Epsom, which will become a virtually new suburb under the scheme.

Construction of the homes is expected to commence next year and will also include the preservation of a listed Victorian water tower to add character to the site.

As well as private homes, more than 30% of properties will be reserved for key workers and social housing.

Around 20% of energy will be generated from onsite renewable sources.

The project will also include a new retail hub for the area on Horton Lane.

English Partnerships’ south-east regional director David Ashworth said: “We are looking forward to working with our development partners and the local community to transform this redundant former hospital site into a truly sustainable new neighbourhood that will increase the number of much-needed affordable homes within the Epsom area.”
