Persimmon shares up this morning, Carillion down

Persimmon, closely followed by Barratt and Bellway, enjoyed a lift in the value of its share price in trading on the Stock Exchange this morning.

The mood of good fortune did not spread as far as Taylor Wimpey, however, which took a further tumble.

Changes in value were:

  • +3.3% Persimmon
  • +2.0% Barratt
  • +1.2% Bellway
  • +0.7% Bovis Homes
  • -1.8% Taylor Wimpey

There was worse news amongst the listed contractors where the overall trend was down. Amongst the biggest divers were Carillion and MJ Gleeson:

  • -4.8% Carillion
  • -4.6% MJ Gleeson
  • -4.0% Balfour Beatty
  • -2.9% Northern Bear

Two of the construction names showing unchanged prices this morning were Jarvis and ISG.
