Kier creates £120m-a-year facilities operation

By John Leitch

A touch of re-branding at Kier has resulted in the creation of a £120m-a-year division called Kier Facilities Services (KFS).

It is the result of merging Kier Managed Services and Kier Building Services Engineers.

The make-over affects 1,200 staff operating from bases in London, Cardiff, Basingstoke and Sheffield.

Starting on 1 November, KFS will provide hard and soft facilities services, building maintenance and building engineering services, which can all be integrated into a single contract.

The top job goes to Colin Hale, who says: “KFS is equipped to offer a one-stop solution for the whole life-cycle of clients’ property requirements. The new company will be able to target a wider range of national opportunities.”

Its client base includes the Post Office, the Welsh Assembly, the NHS and emergency services.

Among the private clients are Legal and General, PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Exxon Mobil.
