Kier, Osborne, Rok, Warings and Willmott Dixon have won a place on BAA's 'commodity build' framework.

The deal could see the five contractors share up to £650m of BAA's Capital Investment Programme over five years.

The scope of the works covers a wide range including building, refurbishment, fit-out, civil engineering and rail projects at a number of airports including Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted and Southampton.

The framework enables the procurement and delivery of capital build projects worth £1m to £30m.

Commenting on the deal, Chris Howe in the construction team at BAA said: "With an investment of £6.5bn over the next five years at its UK Airports, getting the procurement process right is paramount for BAA as it enters its third generation of Framework Contracts. This involves BAA stepping back slightly when it comes to risks that are better managed by the Supply Chain."
