Dunne enjoys 66% turnover hike to £60m

Dunne Group has announced record results and is now hunting down acquisitions.

The latest figures cover the 12 months to 31 October 2008. The highlights are:

  • £60m turnover – a rise of 66%
  • £2.6m pre-tax profit – a rise of 71%

Dunne, based in Bathgate, is a building contractor and concrete frame specialist.

Managing director Gordon Dunne said that the group is expanding its client base across geographic and industrial sectors “to help insulate us from the effects of the downturn in residential development.”

Dunne has continued to invest in new machinery to “maintain our position as leader in the field of new building techniques".

Outside Scotland, Dunne has regional offices in Leeds and Manchester.

Key contracting projects delivered throughout the year include:

  • £2m nursery and after-school facility for the Edinburgh Academy
  • £5.6m bus station in Dunfermline town centre
  • £15m multi-storey car park at Silverburn shopping centre in Glasgow
