Miller site in Warrington could host £1bn Titan prison

Miller Developments' Omega North scheme in Warrington could be the site of the government's first privately financed 'Titan' prison.

The Ministry of Justice has approached Miller to discuss buying part of the Omega site to develop a giant £1bn prison.

The 232 ha site straddles the M62. Miller Developments joint MD Andrew Sutherland said the ministry had contacted the firm to discuss "the possibility of some form of prison development".

The offer could prove attractive to Miller Developments as the scheme is running behind schedule and struggling to attract occupiers.
