Balfour Beatty's Transform Schools consortium has been selected as preferred bidder for the Southwark Schools for the Future programme.
The £200m construction programme covers 13 schools in the London borough of Southwark and will be carried out in three phases, completing in 2014.
All construction work will be carried out by Balfour Beatty Construction and Balfour Kilpatrick. IT specialist RM Group will supply the Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
Financial close is expected in the second quarter of 2009 with the first new schools opening in September 2010 and 2011.
