Deadly West Bromwich building collapses again

A building in West Bromwich that killed a builder when it collapsed in June, has caved in again.

A wall and scaffolding of the Bairstow Eves estate agents on the town’s High Street caved in for the second time at 12pm Tuesday.

Part of the street was cordoned off after a side wall and scaffolding measuring 20m by 10m fell towards the basement.

Fire authorities said no one was injured in the incident.

Structural engineers from Sandwell Council are investigating the cause of the collapse, reported the BBC.

The collapse earlier this year killed builder Lakvir Singh, 47, who was discovered on the ground floor of the building after its roof collapsed.

It is believed he was living at the property, which included two flats above.
