Jewson and Wolseley UK have been appointed to a 16-strong panel that will supply legal and sustainable timber to the 2012 Olympics.

The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) said its Timber Supply Panel will ensure only top quality, non-controversial timber will be used during the construction of the Olympic venues.

It has specified that all timber procured must be supplied by members of the panel.

ODA chief executive David Higgins said it was the first time such a panel had been established on a project of the size of the Games.
