1,000 homes planned in Stirling

The construction of more than 1,000 homes are planned for Stirling in Scotland from next year.

Stirling Council has announced it will build 244 new homes on 21 “pressure” sites in the region from April 2009.

And the construction of more than 880 new housing association homes is also planned from 2010.

The council told the BBC that detailed plans would be submitted to the government by the end of the month, showing 126 new council homes would be constructed in urban areas with 51 in rural communities.
