Wates Living Space to cut 48 jobs

Wates is consulting with staff over plans to make 48 people in its affordable housing division Living Space redundant.

The cuts are expected to affect the Living Space North East business.

A company spokeswoman said that the company would attempt to transfer employees who were affected by the redundancies to other divisions in the business where possible.

The news comes less than a month after the group's fit-out arm, Wates Interiors, confirmed that it could make up to 31 people redundant in its London and Manchester offices.
