House builder Countryside Properties (Northern) plans to make up to 80 of its 200-strong workforce redundant.
The Warrington-based firm has already shed 30 employees in May.
None of the other regions the firm operates in are thought to be affected.
Countryside Properties last hit the headlines with its £80m Accordia scheme in Cambridge, which won the Stirling architecture prize last month.
