Sir Robert McAlpine announces redundancies

Sir Robert McAlpine has become the latest big name to make staff redundant this week.

McAlpine is letting 30 people go across its office network as workloads continue to fall.

A source said: “McAlpine does a lot of commercial work with developers such as Hammerson but their plans are on hold. That means lay-offs and it will have a knock-on effect down the McAlpine supply chain of trade contractors as things get less busy.”
