Birmingham's first £1m flat sold by Lend Lease

A penthouse flat built by developer Crosby Lend Lease has become the first flat in Birmingham to sell for £1m.

The three-bedroom property in the 25-storey Orion Building was bought by an executive in his 30s, according to the Times.

Colin Dean, sales and marketing manager of Crosby Lend Lease, the developer, said: “While the rate of sale has slowed across the entire residential market, sales are still being achieved and people are continuing to vote with their feet.”

Taylor Woodrow build the 150-unit Orion Building after the original contractor, Carillion, fell out with Crosby Homes in 2002 and stopped work on the site.
