Morgan Ashurst is set to walk away with the £15m contract to build a new Student’s Union building at the University of Leicester.
The university has entered stage two negotiations with the firm and hopes to officially confirm its appointment next February.
Morgan Ashurt was up against Bowmer& Kirkland, John Sisk and ISG for the job, which is part of a £1bn revamp of the campus.
The overall plans aim to provide 50% more space on the campus as student numbers increase.
Construction of the Student’s Union building is expected to begin in March 2009.
