Carillion will start work on four new office blocks in Farnborough in Hampshire next month.

The quartet of buildings at the IQ Farnborough development will provide 64,000m2 of new office space.

Developer Segro has pre-let the largest 23,000m2 building to construction and engineering giant Fluor for its new UK headquarters.

The deal is the largest this year in the UK's South East office market outside London and the biggest in the Thames Valley since 2001.

Completion of the quartet of office buildings will be phased during the first six months of 2010.

The IQ Farnborough scheme also contains a new £15m De Vere hotel currently being built by Kier Southern's Southampton-based subsidiary Brazier. Construction of the hotel is due to be completed next summer.

"Fluor's UK operations have nearly 1,800 employees working for clients around the globe in diverse business sectors including: energy and chemicals power renewable energy manufacturing nuclear transportation and telecommunications."
