An air ambulance was scrambled after a teenage scaffolder fell 17m in Sussex.
The man suffered serious injuries to his back, hip and wrist during the fall at the Sussex Manor Business Park in Manor Royal.
The 19-year-old was working for Mattison Scaffolding and is currently recovering at Surrey Hospital.
A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance Service said : "A 19-year-old man was taken to East Surrey Hospital today (Wednesday) after falling and injuring wrist, hip and back.
"The man had fallen approximately 50ft. An air ambulance was called but the man was taken to hospital by land ambulance."
A Sussex Police spokeswoman said: "Police are investigating the circumstances leading up to a man sustaining injuries at a unit on the Sussex Manor Industrial Estate. It is anticipated that a joint Sussex Police and HSE investigation will follow."
