Scottish house builder Tulloch Homes has lodged plans for a £20m housing development in the Highlands.
The 200-home scheme in Conon Bridge near Dingwall will include 50 affordable homes, according to the Scotsman.
Chairman David Sutherland said: "The large-scale Conon application may surprise some in this challenging financial environment and at a time when other house builders are packing their bags and leaving the Highlands.
"But it underlines our forward confidence and is a positive action to take advantage when market conditions return."
Tulloch admitted on Monday that sales are "significantly down" on the previous year, when it reported a £9.5m increase in profits to £15.85m.
