Work has been completed on the first roof support at the southern end of the 160-m long wave shape roof of the Zaha Hadid-designed London Olympics Aquatic Centre.
Work is now underway on the two northern roof supports of the 2,800 tonne steel roof. Over 3,000 tonnes of concrete has been poured to create the base of one of the supports, which bridge the tunnels housing the powerlines beneath the site.
The other northern support is being built with four metres high of concrete already poured.
Work on the roof itself will begin to in spring next year.
