The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) is inviting comments from customers and competitors regarding Atlas Copco’s proposed takeover of Aggreko’s European oil-free air compressor rental business.
Atlas Copco has agreed to pay £13.4m for the £8.25m turnover business which has a fleet of 200 machines and employs 25 people. If the takeover is cleared it expects to integrate the new purchase with its own Speciality Rental division.
The OFT said the invitation is a standard procedure to determine if the proposed takeover would lead to a substantial lessening of competition for goods or services, and has set a deadline of 2 January for submissions to be made.
