Peter Redfern told 'stick to reading Heat magazine'

By John Leitch

Chief executive Peter Redfern’s well-aired missive to all his Taylor Wimpey staff – seen by one construction website as being a highly insightful document – has been sent up by the Financial Times today.

Redfern’s secret-but-public email stated that “our share price is somewhat volatile” and that over the last few weeks “we have had more press coverage than if Angelina Jolie gave birth to Siamese twin chimpanzees”.

He then went on to offer the deep insight that “there is still plenty of water to go under the bridge” when it comes to resolving TW’s debt burden.

Finally, Redfern added that he has pen poised for two further similar missives to his staff.

The FT verdict on this revelation is: “Maybe he should stick to Heat magazine over the break and put aside the financial pages.”
