Cement mixer falls on woman

Firefighters had to use air balloons to lift a cement mixer off a woman after an accident in Clapham, south London.

The woman was walking along the pavement on Nightingale Lane when the machine fell off her lorry and pinned her down by her hair, according to the Wandsworth Guardian.

She was treated for head injuries by helicopter doctors, before being taken by ambulance to St George’s Hospital in Tooting.

Ambulance watch manager John Chambers said: “I don’t think the lorry ran her over, but she had been knocked into a wall. She wasn’t in any condition to tell anyone what happened anyway.”

The accident happened on Friday 28 November.
