Canary Wharf Group (CWG) has stumped up £150m to the £500m Isle of Dogs Crossrail station, which it will design and build.
CWG announced that work is set to start in early 2009 after it concluded agreements with the government and Transport for London (TfL).
The rest of the cost for the station will come out of Crossrail's £16bn budget.
CWG's contracting division will build the station for a fixed price.
The station box is expected to be handed over to Crossrail in summer 2012, while the first trains will run in 2017.
Planning approval has been received for the project, which will contain around 100,000 square feet of retail space and a rooftop park above the station.
