Costain bags £220m East Midlands MAC 7 deal

The A-One+ consortium of Colas/Costain/Halcrow has won a £220m deal to maintain and improve roads in the East Midlands for the Highways Agency.

The Managing Agent Contractor (MAC 7) deal will see Costain work on motorways and trunk roads in Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Rutland.

Costain chief executive Andrew Wyllie said:

"The award of this important five year contract reflects our continuing strategic focus on major "blue chip" customers, and reinforces Costain's position as a leading player in the construction and maintenance of highways in the UK."
