MEPC unveils £160m Cardiff scheme

By Grant Prior

Developer MEPC has unveiled plans for a new £160m phase of the Callaghan Square office complex in Cardiff.

The proposal will create 1100 construction jobs as the brownfield site is turned into another 500,000ft2 of offices on the south side of the scheme.

A request for outline planning permission has now been submitted to Cardiff Council and MEPC will phase the construction over seven years if permission is granted.

An MEPC spokesman said: “This is the first stage of the planning process and there will be more detailed applications on individual buildings.”
