Former Skanska boss David Fison is joining Osborne as chief executive.
Fison left the Swedish contracting giant last summer following problems in the UK division’s PPP business.
But industry experts were tipping him for a swift return to a major player thanks to his years of experience at Skanska and Balfour Beatty.
Osborne chairman, Simon Murray said: “We are delighted that David has joined us. The construction industry is facing difficult times that will also bring opportunities for our company. David has the experience and the commitment to lead Osborne through this period and on to a successful future.”
Fison said: “Osborne is well known in the industry for its values and beliefs. In the current environment it is the companies that can hold to their values and core capabilities that will come out of it leaner but stronger and create real value for their clients.“
Fison was also appointed to the board of the Olympic Delivery Authority last week.
