Cruickshanks, the high voltage substation business of Balfour Kilpatrick, has won an £8m contract with Scottish Power Energy Networks to connect the Clyde wind farm into the electricity grid.
Cruickshanks will project manage, design, supply, install and commission 00/275/33kV switchgear, civil works and ancillary equipment for the 21-month project.
The Clyde facility, which will be Europe's biggest onshore wind farm, will be able to power 320,000 homes when it is complete.
It will be built in clusters of turbines near the M74, and will generate a total of 548 megawatts.
