Family claim Cemex death may have been caused by an explosion

The family of a worker killed at Cemex's factory in Rugby believe his death could have been caused by an explosion at the plant.

Peter Reynolds died from head injuries last January following a fall. Now his family believe the accident could have been caused by a blast at the factory.

His mother Jane told the Rugby Advertiser: "I was absolutely horrified when we were told about the explosion. It appears that he may not have just fallen.

"Investigators said there may have been an explosion that catapulted him through a corrugated building and then hit a brick building and fell 33 feet.

"It's been a year since his death and we are still waiting for answers."

The family are hoping an inquest will take place in March.

Cemex declined to comment until the Health and Safety Executive investigation is completed.
