Plumber called as man gets tap stuck in eye

By Grant Prior

Doctors called a plumber when a Chinese man walked into his local A&E department with a 40cm pipe and a tap stuck in his eye.

Yi Zhao had to be cut free from the plumbing after slipping in his bathroom and impaling himself.

His predicament stumped doctors who sent for a plumber to help them pull the metal out.

But after waiting three hours Yi had had enough and pulled the pipe out of his eye socket himself.

He said: "It didn't look too complicated. I felt I could stand the pain." He suffered fractured facial bones but his brain and vision were completely unaffected.
