The boss of a roofing firm has been found guilty of manslaughter due to gross negligence following the death of one of its employees.

Darren Hoofe, 20, died when he fell 6m onto a concrete floor while carrying out roof repairs in Uckfield in 2005.

A jury at Hove Crown Court found both IC Roofing and its director Colin Cooper guilty of manslaughter.

Cooper was accused of failing to carry out the necessary risk assessment procedures for the work.

He will be sentenced next week.
