Atkins set to cut 260 UK jobs

Atkins is planning to axe 260 jobs from its UK regional design operation.

Staff cuts will hits offices in Birmingham, Cardiff, Edinburgh, London, Newcastle, Sheffield, Leeds, Stockton and Oxford.

A spokesman for Atkins said: “We are trying to redeploy as many people as possible but the severity of the downturn, particularly on the building side of the industry, means we have to review our operations.

Last week Atkins unveiled 210 job cuts at its Dubai and Manila businesses.
